Risk Disclosures

Important information for investors

General Notes
Every capital investment involves risks. Before making an investment decision, you should carefully read and understand these risk disclosures. The following information is intended to help you recognize the main risks and make an informed decision.

Capital Risk
Although fixed-income investments are considered less volatile than stocks or funds, there is fundamentally a capital risk. In the unlikely event of insolvency of the account-holding bank, there could be delays in repayment. Statutory deposit insurance protects deposits up to EUR 100,000 per customer and bank.

Interest Rate Risk
With fixed-income investments, the interest rate is fixed for the term. If market rates rise during the term, you cannot benefit from higher rates. Conversely, with falling rates, you are protected against further interest rate declines.

Inflation Risk
Inflation can reduce the purchasing power of your investment. If the inflation rate is higher than your investment interest, the real return on your investment decreases. Consider current and expected inflation rates when making your investment decision.

Liquidity Risk
Fixed-income investments are designed for a specific term. Early termination is often possible but may be subject to fees or a reduced interest rate. Make sure you will not need the invested capital during the term.

Issuer Risk
The security of your deposit depends on the creditworthiness of the account-holding bank. We work exclusively with BaFin-regulated German banks that are members of the deposit insurance scheme. However, the investor bears the risk of bank insolvency, although this is mitigated by deposit insurance up to the statutory limits.

Tax Information
In Germany, interest income is subject to capital gains tax (withholding tax) plus solidarity surcharge and, if applicable, church tax. Tax treatment depends on your personal circumstances. For tax questions, we recommend consulting a tax advisor.

No Investment Advice
Schlau Festgeld does not provide individual investment advice. The information provided on our platform is for general information purposes only and does not constitute a recommendation to buy or sell investment products. For personal advice, please contact a licensed financial advisor.

Past Performance
Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Although fixed-income investments offer a defined return, market conditions and available terms may change in the future.

Investment Decisions
Only make investment decisions when you understand the products and the associated risks. Always read the product-specific information sheets and terms before making an investment. If in doubt, seek independent advice.
